Hardware and Sofware

A computer is made up by 2 main elements, a hardware and a sofware:

Software:
Is a generic world which evolves all the pat which are like a guide for the computer to work but they are not physically there, there are two classifications of sofware.

Operating System:
Its mision is to manage the PC resources in a efficient way, also gives information to the user about the resources that go in an out. Depending on your operating system some applications will or will not be able to work.

Applications or APPs:
Which are computer programs that try to solve concrete needs of the user, such as: writing, drawing , music, ...



Hardware:
The hardware is one generic world which evolves all the computer materials we can see and touch in a computer and make it work,from this group we have 10 main elements that needs a computer to be able to work.

Motherboard:
Its a connecting part, in this part all the components are connected.

The screen:
Is the principall element wich gives the user visual information.

Microprocessor:
This part is the brain of the computer. Its a programable device that accept digital data as input and acts as the brain of the computer. This element generates a lot of heat so we use cooling mechanism for creating lower temperatures.

Optical disc drive:
It reads the  Compact discs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs are common types of optical media, which are readed using a laser or by electromagnetic waves.

Expansion card:
Is a printed circuit which gives extra funcionality to the computer motherboard, backplane or riser card.

RAM:
The RAM    ( Random-Access memory) is used for save a bit of data from a computer. The RAM saves from the orders from the apps in short periodes of time in a random way.

Power supply:
Its a device which gives electricity to the system so that it can work, it addaps the intensity of the current to a more suitable one. This element also needs a cooling system

Hard disk drive:
Its the main memory in the computer. It saves all the data in one or many hard disks coated with a magnetic material. It is slower than the RAM but it saves the information in long periods of time

Keyboard:
The keyboard is used in PCs for writing. Its formed by tons of switches that are activated when they are pressed and they activate a letter, number or commands every time their are presed

Mouse:
a mouse is a device that detects motion relative to a surface. This allows for fine control of a graphical user interface.
